Urology is a surgical specialty focusing on conditions and diseases of male and female urinary tracts. Urologists are specialty physicians who perform a variety of surgical procedures for the kidneys, bladder, prostate, urethra and testes, and they treat a number of ailments like prostate disease, kidney stones and incontinence.
Kingwood Medical Center offers the latest advances in minimally invasive surgery to our Urology patients. Using miniature instruments inserted via a small tube, called a laparoscope, through tiny incisions in the body revolutionized the way patients are treated for a variety of conditions. Laparoscopic surgeries result in less discomfort, quicker recovery times and better outcomes for patients than traditional “open” surgery.
