Forty-four year old stroke patient and mother of three, Julia Rodriguez (pictured in red), visits Kingwood Medical Center team members during Stroke Awareness Month. Thanking the team for their efforts, Rodriguez shared with guests of the hospital’s third annual Neuro Symposium that she feels great and is back to normal activity just five short months after her stroke. She arrived December 1 at the hospital’s Emergency Department via EMS and was back home in time for Christmas.
Recognized within Houston as a Level I Stroke Center and accredited by the state as a Primary Stroke Center, Kingwood Medical Center provides residents of northeast Houston tertiary care for patients experiencing neurological symptoms. Recently, the hospital opened a 10-bed neuro intensive care unit and is currently building a neuro operating room suite.
